ABOUT
(b. 1986) Ephraim Wasse is a multidisciplinary artist, photographer, curator, and educator born in Israel to parents who immigrated from Ethiopia in 1984. His work is deeply informed by questions of identity, migration, memory, and belonging, often drawing from personal and familial histories. Through photography and installation, Wasse explores the relationship between body, space, and narrative, engaging with both intimate domestic environments and broader cultural contexts.
Wasse’s practice moves between documentation and staged imagery, using natural light, archival references, and spatial interventions to construct layered visual experiences. His work reflects an ongoing investigation into home as a shifting condition shaped by time, displacement, and emotional memory.
His work has been exhibited in Israel and the United States, including at Beit HaOmanim, Tel Aviv; Beit Feitelovich, Tel Aviv; Beit Hagefen, Haifa; Artport, Tel Aviv; and Dillard University, New Orleans. Wasse has also curated several exhibitions, including Woven Connections and The Red Thread at Beit Feitelovich.
